Upon closer inspection of the Elden Ring network test build, a dataminer has uncovered a unique dream-collecting system that almost made its way into the game. We see him placing an Elden Lord's crown (same one Godfrey was wearing) onto what I assume is the Elden Lord's throne during the story trailer. Published A YouTuber and dataminer recently uncovered a remarkably fleshed-out dream-collecting mechanic that was cut from the already-massive Elden Ring. My crackpot theory is that Margott is long dead, (there's a viscount from House Shanehaight that thinks he's alive and wishes to seek audience with him) but Margit is fooling the currently loyal noble families into thinking Margott is alive by either impersonating him (Golden projection magic we see him use in the CNT), or by pretending to carry out his bidding on his behalf. Morgott probably wasn't as strong as Godfrey or was more divisive amongst the Noble families and demigods, (we are explicitly told that Godfrey's rule as Elden Lord in the Lands Between was the Golden Age), so his weak rule allowed the Shattering to occur and be as devastating as it was. He's probably Margit's father as we know Margit is heavily connected to the Royal family, and Marika had a consort named Radagon at the time (so I assume that Elden Lords become married to Marika). Morgott was in power during the Shattering and his Royal city is being attacked in the Story trailer. We know from the datamined voice lines and dialogue that Margott is or was an Elden Lord, probably the second one after Godfrey. I don't think Godwyn was ever an Elden Lord. It would dramatically rise the appeal of chalice dungeons for me. To this day, I imagine how cool it would be to have a lobby system similar to Monster Hunter - where players can meet up and grind bosses/chalices to get materials/gems/ex cetera. Elden Ring dataminer and PvP content creator StrayKurtis recently shared a screenshot of unused messages from Elden Ring which imply the game's various factions may once have had more formal. I feel that their experimental system from Bloodborne could be changed and perfected and this could add to the longevity of this game.

I wonder if there is something like this in Elden Ring.in some form or another. This wouldn’t make sense for Elden Ring I suppose (?), but I, for one, love the chalice dungeons and the gem grinding. However, I understand the problem this can present in PvP. Personally I prefer the matchmaking system in Bloodborne the most - where it's just dependent on your character's level and NOT on weapon upgrades. FromSoftware's open-world fantasy epic includes multiplayer features like summons and invasions, but it lacks the covenant system present in past soulslike titles. It would be cool if the EDGE coverage speaks of this in some capacity. An Elden Ring datamine suggests that multiplayer covenants, a popular FromSoftware feature, were intended for inclusion in the game. And while the discovery lead some to theorise the arenas could be intended for PvP play at some future point, a fresh delve has suggested there maybe a little more going on.Two additional things I would love to know more about are: 1) How the matchmaking system is going to work and 2) if there is some kind of endgame (grind) element in Elden Ring like Bloodborne had with Chalice dungeons.
ELDEN RING DATAMINE SERIES
They’re imposing things on the outside, and McDonald’s initial boundary break video revealed, somewhat surprisingly given their impenetrable nature, that developer FromSoftware hadn’t skimped on their innards either.īy following a series of intricate passageways beyond one of the colosseum’s closed doors, McDonald emerged in a vast arena overlooked by a lavishly rendered viewing area. Last month, Soulsborne dataminer Lance McDonald offered Elden Ring fans a peek behind the Lands Between’s ordinarily sealed colosseum doors, and now, a fresh delve inside has revealed more of what may have been planned for the currently dormant structures during development.Įlden Ring players will no doubt be familiar with the gargantuan colosseums that lie at three points on the map – one just beyond Stormveil Bridge, another jutting out from Caelid’s coastline, and a third set high above Leyndell, Royal Capital.
